What I’m Reading, Listening to, And Concerned About

Neo at Nebraska Energy Observer talks about spirited Canadians, the Trucker Convoy, and what is in the heart of our northern neighbors.

Cooper Jakes at The Flame Within takes a few minutes to talk about something dear to my heart; men’s mental health. https://anchor.fm/theflamewithin/episodes/Mens-mental-well-being—a-consideration-e1dmkmh

Additional listening:

Tim from Into the Wilderness podcast speaks with Nate Dean about “changing your prospective about money”.

Additional Reading:

Tyler, dear friend at the Portly Portico, reflects of my sentiments when it comes to Valentine’s Day and the downfalls of being a single man. His suggestions are an idea that would take off, if others could lower their defenses.

Be aware of those that benefit from division. They will artificially create division among those dumb enough to not notice.

  1. Thanks for sharing my post, Matt. I was in a bit of a dark and pessimistic mood when I wrote it, but I do think my overall diagnosis is accurate.

    • It is a symptom. Your work reminded me to get back on the ball, at least for a little bit.

      • Best of luck to you, friend. It is pretty tough out there.

I was actually supposed to go out with a girl last night. We were having good conversations, seemed to click, etc., etc. She was a bit of dumpling, if you catch my drift, but I figured, “Hey, she seems nice, and who doesn’t have a few extra pounds these days?”

Midweek, absolutely no communication from her. I wrote it (and her) off. Onto the next one!

I’m a big believer in maintaining a Rolodex of potential dateable prospects, though. I’m seeing a girl this coming weekend who I went out with a couple of times a few years ago, but she ended up going with some other dude.

So, we’ll see. Just need to get back out there and get some experience again.

  2. Elizabeth Kanas-Gonzalez says:

You are correct. We should be careful from those that create and gain from division. That is the name of the game in the dirty Beltway……pathetic.
